From the first enquiry to clear paperwork

01

Agree the inspection

We confirm the property, scope, access and quotation. Inspection covers the fixed electrical installation, including wiring, sockets, lighting and the consumer unit, within the agreed scope and recorded limitations.

02

Understand any repairs

Your report explains the findings. Where repairs or further investigation are needed, we discuss the scope and provide a separate quotation before the work is agreed.

03

Keep the right records

Receive the inspection report and, where applicable, the appropriate certification or written confirmation for remedial work. We agree how paperwork is supplied for each property.

Inspection and repair experience

See how Wire Now handled an EICR and remedial project

Our published Meridian Grand case study describes an inspection across 16 functional areas, followed by planned electrical repairs at a working commercial venue.

This is a commercial project example; each rental property’s scope and timescale is agreed separately.

Check which dates apply to your property

Read our England guide to renewal dates, valid existing reports and the social housing extension. Your current report is the starting point for deciding when another inspection is needed.

Before you enquire

When does my property's inspection need renewing?

Check the next-inspection date on your current report. In England the interval is at most five years, and can be shorter. A five-year report from 2021 may be due in 2026 unless a later suitable report supersedes it.

Do I need another report when the tenant changes?

A change of tenancy does not automatically mean repeating a valid, suitable report. Check its condition, recommendations and next-inspection date, and supply the report to the new tenant before they move in.

What if my EICR is unsatisfactory?

Send the report with your enquiry. We assess the observations and explain the proposed remedial work, any further investigation and the price before work is agreed. Follow any urgent instructions in the report; do not wait for a website response to address an immediate danger.

How much does an inspection cost?

The price depends on the property, installation and agreed inspection scope. Tell us the site postcode and what you need. Repairs are quoted separately; sending an enquiry does not commit you to booking.

Can you help arrange access and several properties?

Tell us how many properties are involved and any access restrictions. We will agree tenant or agent contact arrangements, inspection dates and how the reports should be supplied.
