Meridian Grand: Commercial EICR and 18-Hour Remediation

The venue had inherited electrical work that required a systematic condition assessment. Because Meridian Grand had a scheduled service the next day, any urgent intervention also needed a controlled access, isolation and temporary-supply strategy.

The invoiced inspection scope covered 16 tenant and functional areas. It combined a visual condition assessment with the measurements needed to understand the installation rather than relying on a surface-level check.

The records included a C1 exposed service-head risk and C2 observations involving mixed-manufacturer protective devices, damaged distribution-board enclosures and incoming cabling without adequate mechanical and fire-resistant protection.

The signed remedial scope included load calculations, a discrimination study, 18-circuit redesign drawings, RAMS, permits and a temporary-supply strategy. It also covered two critical TPN distribution-board replacements, type-approved protective devices and improved cable termination and containment.

Wire Now completed an 18-hour shift so the urgent work could be carried out without disrupting Meridian Grand's next-day service. That outcome depended on connecting the inspection evidence to a planned remedial sequence, rather than treating the EICR as a report-only exercise.

For facilities and venue teams, the lesson is practical: identify critical loads and operating windows before testing, then agree how C1, C2 and further-investigation findings will be controlled and closed out.
